The Republican Research-To-Practice Conference Arctic Vector: Development Strategy will be held on May 22 at the Academy of Sciences of Yakutia. The conference is held in the framework of the preparation and discussion of the draft strategy for the socio-economic development of the Arctic zone of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) for the period up to 2030.

The Arctic is a strategically important region, for the control and development of which it is necessary to carry out a large and systematic work. The Arctic Yakutia accounts for 1 608.8 thousand sq km, which is more than half of the entire territory of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) (3,083.5 thousand sq km).

The Arctic zone of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) is characterized by extreme climatic conditions, low population density, high resource intensity and focal nature of industrial and economic development.
