The regions of the Far East will additionally receive over 1 billion rubles for the purchase of means of individual protection and equipment for medical facilities
This measure should minimize the spread of coronavirus in the Far Eastern Federal District (FEFD), the press service of the Plenipotentiary’s Office in the FEFD, distributed on Thursday, said in a statement.
“On behalf of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Plenipotentiary Envoy of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District, Yuri Trutnev, the Development Foundation for the Far East and the Arctic has launched a project to help the Far Eastern regions prevent and minimize the spread of coronavirus infection. More than 1 billion rubles from extrabudgetary sources will be allocated for these purposes,” the report said.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, additional measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection are being introduced for the Far East. According to http://stopkoronavirus.ru/, in the Far Eastern Federal District, 24 cases of infection were recorded in five of 11 regions. “The opportunities of development institutions are used as measures to support the Far East. One of the first to join this was the Development Foundation for the Far East and the Arctic. Funding will be provided for the purchase of additional means of individual protection and equipment for hospitals. This will provide the Far East with effective and prompt medical care and preventive means.”
In addition, Trutnev instructed the Ministry for Development of the Far East to organize work with representatives of the business community and public organizations who are willing to voluntarily offer assistance in the fight against the spread of coronavirus. The ministry should also provide for the possibility, if necessary, to allocate additional funds to the Far Eastern regions as part of the district development programs.
