Universities of Yakutia are ready to increase the recruitment of foreign students to achieve the goals of the Export of Education project within the framework of the Education national project; all the conditions have been created for this, the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic Vladimir Egorov told TASS.

“Within the framework of the ‘Export of Education’ regional project of the ‘Education’ national project, it is planned to increase the share of foreign citizens studying in educational institutions of higher education and scientific organizations by no less than two times. The base rate currently in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) is 1.5% - 466 foreign students studying at educational institutions of higher education and scientific organizations of the total number of students," Vladimir Egorov said.

According to the minister, conditions for the export of education have been created in the republic. "Our universities have unique educational programs. As part of the project, new forms of joint programs, double diplomas and programs in English will be developed, long distance education and summer education programs for foreigners will be developed as well. All this will increase the interest and motivation of foreign students in receiving education in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)," said the agency's source.

In the republic, five state universities offer higher education training, of which four are federal - the M.K. Ammosov North-Eastern Federal University, Yakut State Agricultural Academy, Arctic State Institute of Culture and Arts, Churapcha State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports, and one republican - V.A. Bosikov Higher School of Music of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) (Institute).

The 'Education' national project provides for the formation of conditions for continuous and systematic advanced training of teachers, including the use of modern digital technologies and the involvement of employers in additional vocational education of teachers, for example, in the form of internships. To this end, centers for continuous development and technological support for education will be created, training in which will be conducted using the resources of modern technological educational platforms, as well as online education.
