The ALROSA Environmental Center, the Ministry of the Arctic and the Ministry of Education and Science of Yakutia have summed up the results of the second stage of the Language of Ancestors Children's Competition, which is dedicated to the International Year of Indigenous Languages in 2019 in the Russian Federation.
The works of 250 participants were submitted for evaluation. The finalists were identified who scored the maximum number of points according to criteria such as the relevance of the musical and artistic composition and relevance to a given topic, stage direction, stage culture, quality of performance, costumes of participants and compliance with the regulations.
“To implement this socially significant project in the field of supporting indigenous and small-numbered peoples of the North, the competition committee decided to include the finalists in the 3rd stage of this competition - a gala concert which will be held on December 10, 2019 at the Almaz Palace of Culture (Mirny). On this day, the results will be summed up, and the winners will be awarded with prizes. Founder of the competition is ALROSA. The competition is held for the first time in Yakutia. It is implemented under the auspices of the Environmental Center of the Company - this is one of ALROSA's key and major events at the intersection of several important areas at once: culture, ecology, ethnography. This project is being carried out in collaboration with the Federal Agency for Nationalities of the Russian Federation as part of the International Year of Indigenous Languages,” noted Polina Anisimova, deputy chief engineer for ecology and work with indigenous and small-numbered peoples of the North, head of the ALROSA Environmental Center.
Representatives of the Federal Agency for Nationalities, the Ministry for Arctic Development and Northern Peoples Affairs of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), the State Assembly Committee (Il Tyumen) on science, education, culture, the media and public organizations, the State Assembly Committee (Il Tyumen) on issues of indigenous peoples of the North and Arctic affairs and the Commissioner for the rights of indigenous peoples of the North of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) will take part in the work of the final commission to evaluate the finalists of the competition at the gala concert and select the winners.
