Aisen Nikolaev visited festive events dedicated to the 45th anniversary of the beginning of the construction of the Baikal-Amur Mainline. The head of Yakutia arrived in the city of Tynda, Amur Region, where the celebration was taking place, by train from Neryungri.


Together with Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Maksim Akimov, Minister of Transport of Russia Evgeny Dietrich, CEO-Chairman of the Board of Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov and the governors of the Russian regions, the head of Yakutia congratulated the veterans of the Baikal-Amur Mainline (BAM), the press service of the head and government of the republic reports.


“BAM is not just a railway for our republic. This is what really connects us with the rest of our great country and allows us to develop not only South Yakutia, but also the entire region,” said Aisen Nikolaev. The head of Yakutia recalled the contribution of fellow countrymen to the creation of the Small BAM, the railway section from the Amur Region to Yakutia, called the construction of the railway line the greatest example of the consolidation of society and shared the good news:

“Railway construction is an example of the greatest consolidation and patriotism. Largely thanks to the remarkable feat of the BAM builders on July 27, on the eve of the Railwayman's Day, regular passenger traffic from the Nizhny Bestyakh station opens in Yakutia,” he said.
