The head of the republic, Aisen Nikolaev, met with the chairman of the Union of Journalists of Russia, Vladimir Solovyov, who arrived in Yakutsk for the Inforum educational workshop.
The parties agreed on holding an event in the capital of the republic earlier as part of the working visit of the head of Yakutia to Sochi. Vladimir Solovyov thanked Aisen Nikolaev for such support and noted the high organizational level of the event. Notably, more than 170 journalists from regional and local media, bloggers, media managers, and federal experts took part in the Inforum.
Vladimir Solovyov praised the work of the Union of Journalists of Yakutia, noting that today it is the largest regional organization in Russia. Today, he also noted the Yakut colleagues are eager to join the large union. For example, visiting the leading state organizations of Yakutia today, the Sakha NBC and the Sakha GTRK branch, he presented several young media representatives with the coveted tickets of members of the Yakutia Journalists Union.
Vladimir Solovyov noted with satisfaction another important achievement - the election of the candidate from Russia, the head of the international department of the Union of Journalists of the Russian Federation Timur Shafir, as chairman of the International Federation of Journalists.
During the meeting, issues of development of the media of the republic were discussed, the parties exchanged views and outlined new prospects for cooperation, the press service of the head and the government of the region reported. Vladimir Solovyov thanked the head of Yakutia for hospitality, expressed confidence in further fruitful cooperation.
