On June 4-5, in Yakutsk, ALROSA hosted the 2nd stage of the Language of Ancestors Children's Republican Contest, dedicated to the celebration of the International Year of Indigenous Languages in the Russian Federation in 2019.
In the qualifying round, 4 participants showed their talents: Daria Egorova, Kira Fedorova, Svetlana Kuzmina, Naryyaana Kondakova and the Dobun folk ethno-folklore group.
The participants performed in various types of arts - dance, a song accompanied by khomus, a recital of a fable, a report and an author's composition.
All performances corresponded to a given theme: the traditional way of life and the languages of indigenous peoples of the North.
The working committee included representatives of the organizer of the contest - the ALROSA Environmental Center, Konstantin Soloviev, Deputy Minister of the Arctic of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) Mikhail Pogodaev and a representative of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia).
The show contest of the ALROSA Environmental Center is included in the key action plan of the Federal Agency for Nationalities Affairs of the Russian Federation within the framework of the International Year of Indigenous Languages.
Further, the commission will go to the Vilyui group of uluses.
The final, third stage of the contest will be summing up and awarding the winners at a gala concert at the 'Almaz' Palace of Culture in Mirny in November-December 2019.
